Internet Profiling-many computer users who frequent the darker sides of the Internet often fail to realize the trail that they leave behind.  Many web sites collect user information in a number of ways, sometimes without the user even being aware that data is being collected.  This allows modern investigators to develop an "Internet Profile" that can uncover much information about a user's conduct and behaviour.   This has been used to great effect in uncovering people's identities, their whereabouts and even illegal transactions carried out on the Net.
